I have a green laser with a housing that looks identical to this one--I got it on eBay for $12 bucks along with a blue/violet laser--and it is certainly no more powerful than 5mW. Loads of fun to play with, but not even powerful enough to pop a black balloon unless you take it apart and pot it yourself. Burns through a set of batteries in no time flat, too.
Sorry for the long post. Bottom line is, if it is 100mW, don't be surprised if you never get it. If it isn't, you can find 'em cheaper.I purchased this 300mw green laser , not for astronomy, or for presentations, or for pointing at aircraft(though, I concede I have already used it to point out our neighborhood Jovian planets to my relatives, when they had trouble looking!). I didn't even purchase it for testing, leveling, or anything else of the like. I purchased this laser for my half-blind, 19-year old cat, who just happens to go absolutely ballistic over lasers. The poor girl was getting depressed, due to her blindness, and, I turned to the one thing I knew would cheer her up.
